On a day to day basis, I see the crappy gender disparity everywhere. And I keep hoping it's just me.
I was thrilled at the recent discovery of a girl's shirt at The Children's Place that had an "I <3 Math" theme --I was willing to forgive their obnoxiousness in having EVERY single Marvel item be only in the boys' section for that math-positive proof that they learned their lesson from last summer (of course, I got busy and now the shirt have vanished from the internet--the screenshot I took is apparently the only evidence for me that this ever existed [next time I'll buy more quickly]).

But it doesn't get better. And it's not just me.
I see my email from The Disney store about new Star Wars stuff--apparently there is one women's shirt in all of the new clothing line. While Princess Leia is arguably one of the only females in the original trilogy, and her slave-girl-garb is problematic, they apparently couldn't even manage to put her on a single shirt.
Come on Disney, this is EMBARRASSING. I mean, when 50% of the population makes it into, what, under 1% of your children's clothing, that should be so backwards, your marketing people should be stammering and blushing at how badly they screwed this up as they try to change this for the next batch of marketing.
You can do better.
I mean, you're the company that created the marketing bonanza of 'Frozen', who made coonskin caps all the rage, who created "the happiest place on earth" as a catch phrase that everyone knows.
Surely Disney can find a way to desegregate Star Wars.
