Marvel and Zulily are in rare form. (or, unfortunately, in normal sexist form where they drop the ball). The sale doesn't really show much in the way of female heroes
(Link to sale here).
Funny how Black Widow keeps falling out of the Avengers products. And #wheresGamora in the Guardian's merchandise?
There are 2 'costumes' for girls that are skirted version of male character's outfits, but there are no costumes of female characters.
And look, lots of t-shirts! Gender neutral for little people, right? Except if you click on the category to get to the site, those shirts only show up in the 'Boy's" category, not the girls.
There are 255 items in the boys section.
There are 28 in the girl's section.
But Marvel told me the last time they contacted me (many months ago--all recent mail has, once again, been ignored) that, regarding female characters in products, "please know that this is in the pipeline. Loyal fans like you should be seeing female characters come to life in our products in the future."
Wonder what pipeline that is? When their future is?
Maybe after 2018, when they release the Captain Marvel film.
(BTW, I haven't fallen off the face of the earth, we just had a vacation and a bunch of work excitement. So, kind intern stuck opening the mail @Marvel, you can sign for another letter to be ignored soon.)
